When you initially contact Prince Tree Surgery, we will book a site visit to allow us to get a better understanding of your tree problem and the work it might entail. This will allow us to provide a better estimate of the duration of any tree surgery work and an accurate cost. This site visit is provided free of charge and without obligation – it simply is a means for us to get a clearer idea of the likely labour requirements and the time needed to complete the task.
During the site visit, Matt will visit your home or business premises to carry out an assessment of the problem and discuss the likely solution or options available. Each job is priced on an individual basis and will depend on a variety of factors including the estimated length of any works and how many staff will be needed. For tree removal, for example, we will need to assess the size of the tree, accessibility, proximity to buildings and power cables/utility supplies and traffic enforcement requirements. Sometimes, we may need to combine our services with other professionals to ensure we achieve the safest solution. This might occur when the roots of a building has caused suspected structural problems or damage to foundations. In these circumstances, we may work with a structural surveyor with the homeowner’s permission. Other work may involve council checks, planning consent, road closures which could result in unavoidable delays.
Following a site visit, we will prepare a detailed breakdown of the work involved and the cost of our services, along with our full terms and conditions, before allowing the customer to make an independent decision on whether they would like to proceed. This detailed quotation will be accompanied by a letter and will be emailed or posted to the homeowner’s address.
Tree surgery requires significant skill and training and we would only ever send a qualified professional to carry out the site assessment and indeed complete the work. Prince Tree Surgery prides itself on the professionalism and experience of its staff. Our workers have all completed competence assessments and industry-recognised qualifications and have the necessary certificates for the tools they work with. Health and safety is a top priority and we also hold £5m public liability insurance cover. In addition, our staff are all covered by £10m employers’ liability insurance, thus protecting homeowners from litigious claims.
